Our Story
Xbaal, which means "woman" in Mayan, was founded in 1989. When the Gilberto hurricane hit Quintana Roo, grandmother Lourdes joined forces with other women and founded the National Gilberto Association. One of the association's programs focused on training women, empowering them to become independent.
Years later, in 2017 mother, Roxanna, and two daughters, Maria and Eugenia Ornelas, joined the company to continue the legacy their grandmother has created. Since then they have employed and trained around 1000 Mexican women and are planning to keep empowering even more as the company grows.
